On July 13, World Rock Day is celebrated

On July 13, 1985, a mega event called Live Aid, a simultaneous show in England and the United States. The main objective was to raise awareness among the world population about the drastic poverty and hunger in Ethiopia. This mega show was attended by famous artists and rock groups of the time, such as The Who, Status Quo, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, Madonna, Queen, Joan Baez, David Bowie, BB King, Rolling Stones, Sting, Scorpions, U2, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins (who played in England and the USA), Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, among others. The event was broadcast live to several countries. At the time, singer and drummer Phil Collins proposed that July 13 be remembered as World Rock Day.
