The series Under pressure, which premiered its fourth season on TV Globo on the 12th of august, it manages to establish a conversation with the public that goes beyond the screen, promoting reflection and the mobilization of society around issues related to health, such as the blood donation campaign #pressurecurrents, which will have a new edition starting this week.

This year - in which blood donation becomes even more necessary in the face of the pandemic context and the consequent reduction of stocks in blood centers - the action gains even more strength. It will be held in 120 cities in the country, starting on September 2, and will last for at least a week, which helps to avoid agglomerations.

Under pressure covers a variety of subjects inspired by real life. It is a project that was conceived to discuss and think about the issue of public health with entertainment. And it is very gratifying to have this open space with the public, to show people that health, as well as education, is a priority. Being able to promote a mobilization of the population around a great cause that can help save many lives gives us a feeling of accomplishment”, emphasizes the author. Lucas Paraizo.

the artistic director Waddington Andrucha highlights the social bias of the series, since the first season. "Under pressure presents the reality of health professionals, combining entertainment and social responsibility, making it possible to mobilize and inform the population to try to transform the health scenario in Brazil for the better. In the first season, for example, after showing an episode about organ donation, we showed a card that directed the audience to the portal adopt (Brazilian Alliance for Organ and Tissue Donation), where it is possible to seek information and awareness on the topic. Approximately 8,000 people sought, for the first time, information to become donors”, highlights the director.
