Fans of Nathan Fillion, who became known in the “Castle” series, can celebrate. The actor will star in "The Rookie”, the new series of Universal TV which premieres in November.

The production, inspired by a true story, will show the routine of a middle-aged man who decides to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). In this new beginning in life, Nolan becomes the oldest freshman in his class and must face the numerous challenges that involve a police career, but his experience, determination and sense of humor can make this new chapter of his life a success.

The series was created by Alexi Hawley (“Castle”), who also produces and writes; Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman and Jon Steinberg are executive producers on the series. The cast features Afton Williamson (Law & Order: SVU) in the role of newly promoted officer Talia Bishop and Richard T. Jones (Law & Order: SVU) as Sergeant Wade Grey.
