The series V-Wars and October Faction were canceled by Netflix after showing only one season. Both programs are based on the properties of the IDW Publishing, which is also behind the adaptation of the series Netflix in Locke & Key, who received a renewal order.
In V-Wars, Dr. Luther Swann (Ian Somerhalder) enters a world of incalculable horror when a mysterious illness transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), in a killer predator that feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society is fragmenting into opposite fields, pitting normal people against the growing number of these “vampires”. The first season premiered on December 9, 2019.
According to sources, Netflix and Somerhalder are in negotiations to collaborate on more projects in the future.
Already October Faction follows the monster hunters Fred (JC MacKenzie) and Deloris Allen (Tamara Taylor) while they hide their identities as members of a secret union while their teenage children, Geoff (Gabriel Darku) and Viv (Aurora Burghart), are forced to live in a city stuck in the past. The first season premiered on January 23.
