Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Turtle Rock Studios announce Back 4 Blood, from the creators and development team behind the critically acclaimed co-op phenomenon Left 4 Dead. Back 4 Blood was designed from scratch as an original game that combines the best that “zombie shooters” have to offer with new features and cutting-edge technology.

“We are thrilled to partner with the accomplished team at Turtle Rock Studios on Back 4 Blood to evolve the “zombie shooter” genre with innovative multiplayer gameplay,” said David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The talented team at Turtle Rock has been developing incredible games for a long time, and this is a great opportunity to work with them to create a new gaming universe built specifically for the gaming community that enjoys co-op shooters.”

“It’s hard to describe how incredible this opportunity is. We managed to return to a genre that was born in our studio with over ten years of experience and we have hundreds of zombie ideas accumulated in our brains,” said Chris Ashton, co-founder and design director at Turtle Rock Studios. “We also have a talented team at WBIE who understand our development process and are equally committed to our player-first vision. It’s great to announce this partnership so we can start working with the community immediately.”

“We will not remain stuck in the glories of the past. Our goal is to make the most of everything we learn. We know it’s a tall order,” said Phil Robb, co-founder and chief creative officer at Turtle Rock Studios. “We are increasing the team considerably because we are preparing for the biggest challenge in the history of this studio. We know that this game has to stand out and we intend to make that happen.”
