With equipment from the giant SMA, a leading German company in the supply of photovoltaic solutions, the new system for generating solar energy installed by Ideatek Service Solar on the Island of Japan, in Angra dos Reis, will help the luxurious property to stop burning 160 liters of diesel per day. The gains are not only limited to the drastic reduction in fuel combustion – the price of diesel has almost doubled in the last year, but also in noise pollution and fuel transport.

Ilha do Japão is an exclusive private island located 7 km from the shore of Angra dos Reis, a Brazilian municipality located 168 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro. Within the Angra region there are 365 islands, some of which are privately owned and inhabited. Angra dos Reis is part of the Costa Verde region, so called thanks to its abundance of verdant forest.

The background of this project was to contribute to the valorization of the environment through the use of energy and sustainable development, aiming at improving the quality of life of society.

IDJ is an exclusively private residential vacation property that spans 2.5 hectares and offers luxurious accommodation for up to 10 people, extensive common areas, a private beach and magnificent, crystal clear waters. The daily rates on site cost 20 thousand reais in accommodation of the highest standard.

Last week, Ideatek Service Solar completed the commissioning of the Off-Grid system on the Island of Japan. Rogerio Mattos, CEO of Ideatek Service Solar, guarantees that the project brought many challenges to the company. “When we were called in, we knew that the challenge would be much greater than all the previous ones, despite being the smallest system we have commissioned to date”.

“It is extremely gratifying to participate in a project that aims at economy and sustainability through solar energy like the one on Japan Island. Despite the logistical and transport challenges on an island far from the coast, we are proud to have carried out the work and the result, which will make the island not only a paradise for the eyes, but also a sustainable and green hotel, supplied with clean energy, the solar energy".

André Gellers, Country Manager of SMA Brasil, celebrates the company's participation in the project. “SMA stands out for the quality of its products, its commitment to customer satisfaction and the environment. Being able to provide equipment for one to one property in an ecological paradise and assist in their sustainability efforts is a great satisfaction for us.”

SMA develops products and solutions that improve the energy performance of plants installed on residential, commercial, industrial and large-scale photovoltaic power plants.

The Japan Island Photovoltaic System has 113 photovoltaic panels with a total power of 45kWp and an SMA CORE1 inverter with 50KVA of power. The energy storage system has 72KVA of power, using 12 6KVA inverters from the SMA Sunny Island 8.0H, with the SMA MultiCluster Box 12.3 distribution system and 28 batteries from the UZ Energy Power Lite Series with 5.12kWh of storage capacity. , total autonomy of 130kWh.

In addition to the SMA tip systems, to have an idea of the technology used in this project, it is enough to say that UZ Energy, manufacturer of the storage system, uses batteries from CATL, the same supplier of batteries for the cars of the American giant Tesla (Tesla Model 3).
