On Wednesday, July 21, it debuts on Disney + the original series Turner & Hoochstarring Josh Peck (Drake and Josh). In the plot, which will have new weekly episodes, the life of a young and systematic bailiff (Peck) changes completely when he inherits Hooch, a drooling messy dog – “played” by five French mastiffs. His new pet is indomitable, but over time, he becomes a good partner in helping Scott catch criminals, find love, and even solve the mystery of his father's latest case.

If this story sounds familiar, it is because it is. The series is a sequel to the movie an almost perfect duo (Turner & Hooch in the original version), from 1989, starring Tom Hanks. In the feature, Hanks plays Scott Turner, a detective who is about to move out of town and face bigger cases. However, before he leaves, he must solve one last murder case, and the only thing he has closest to a clue is the victim's dog, Hooch. Turner then decides to adopt him in order to gather the necessary clues to solve the crime.

The protagonist of the original Disney+ production is the son of detective Scott, who is no longer alive during the series. However, before leaving, he leaves his son a dog he rescued from the shelter and which “it's almost as if the original Hooch has returned”, as his mother informs him in a scene in the series. Along with the pet, the detective also left his son a letter, where he says: “I know you think you don't want to have a dog. But everything I care about in life started with a dog.”

Besides being a good mix of comedy and adventure, Turner & Hooch it also talks about growing up, family, career advancement and relationship building.
