What would you do if you woke up and discovered that all the doors and windows inside your house were gone? And when you search for your phone, it doesn't work and everyone has disappeared? Now imagine being a child and this missing person is your father. This is the premise of this experimental horror film Skinamarink: Lullaby.

This film will certainly divide opinions, both among critics and fans of the genre. But it will certainly leave a mark when watching it and that fear when looking at some of its toys. In some moments, Skinamarink: Lullaby looks like a horror version of some well-known animations like Toy Story.

All the strange events begin right after 4-year-old Kevin has a small accident on the stairs and hits his head. According to his father, everything is fine, but strangely he and his 9-year-old sister Kyleen must sleep in the basement of the house. There the two spend their time playing and watching old black and white animations in secret.

From here you can already imagine what will start to happen and define all the suspense. And if in horror films the basement is always the terrifying place, where no one wants to go down, this time it's the opposite: who will have the courage to climb the stairs?

The most fascinating in Skinamarink: Lullaby is that nothing really seems to be what it is. Director Kyle Edward Ball plays with the viewer's senses, as the camera's view is from bottom to top, that is, always through the eyes of children, which makes the work scarier, and also gives a good tip for adults of how terrifying the world can be for little ones.

The film's tension is all created through growth. He takes us back to childhood when a small fear of getting out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom began to turn into something bigger with each step towards the goal. And the return was the worst part, as each object and shadow came to life and panic took over, making him run back to bed and take cover under the sheet.

For sure Skinamarink: Lullaby will bring you these memories and a little more. And if you wait for answers, they are up to those watching. Skinamarink: Lullaby It's a good horror film, which will bring back childhood memories that still permeate in some corner of your brain and behind some door.
