This crisis in television scripts is starting to worry me. Lately, all that has been announced is either a remake, or a re-adaptation or famous films becoming a series. The chosen work of the time is Marley & Me, famous book written by John Grogan which has already been adapted for the cinema with the film of the same name starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston.
The series will be a continuation of the film, starting right where the 2008 work ends. After the death of the dog Marley, John and Jenny they return to Florida with their children and end up adopting the poorly maintained dog by the neighbors. This rescued dog ends up being named Marley, after the previous troublemaker.
NBC owns the project, with Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City, The Big C) as responsible for the series. The cast is not yet defined and the premiere is for the Fall Season 2015.
