Under The Dome

I'm going to start this post with a warning, I'm a big fan of Stephen King and therefore, mega suspect to talk about his works. Under The Dome is based on the book of the same name in the US and 'Under the dome' in Brazil.

I confess that I expected a little more from the Pilot Under The Dome, perhaps because of the plot and production by Stephen himself, I thought that the series would already arrive leaving my nerves on edge, with all that wonderful suspense that we are used to seeing in Stephen King's works.

Well, it wasn't like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the pilot wasn't good, I'm just warning that it doesn't have all that suspense and mystery that most fans were expecting. The pilot is all about presenting the story and characters.

Under The Dome happens in Chester Mill, a small town full of mysteries where, out of nowhere, a dome “falls”, excluding it from the outside world. Can you imagine yourself trapped in an aquarium? For that's how the residents of Chester Mill feel, trapped in a small space with their loved ones on the other side. You can imagine that a lot of madness can happen in such a situation, much more than what already happened in this city.

Under The Dome 2

The city was not an example city before what happened, in it we have police officers involved in dubious schemes, obsessive boyfriends arresting their girlfriend in the basement, murders and that's all we know so far! The great touch of the series will be to see the reaction of the residents in this situation of despair, if it was chaos before, imagine after this strange event...

The fact that the series is produced by Stephen himself leads me to believe that it will be very good, the cast also helps a lot, we have many known and admired figures in the series.

Under The Dome will have 13 episodes in its first season. If you're finding this number too high for a thriller series like this and you think it might get tiring or not even get renewed, remember that the book is quite large and the series started with a considerable amount of detail.

I really hope the series goes forward, as I said, I'm a fan of the master Stephen King and this was definitely the series I was most looking forward to seeing the premiere!

Who else was looking forward to it? Did you like the series pilot? Comment and show your opinion! 😉

  1. Does the book say who or what put this Invisible Field in the City?
I really wanted to know and I can't find it anywhere :/

  2. I found the season as a whole rather boring. Stories a little disconnected, people who are not reported in the book appear only for a short story, and even characters with a different personality than the one described in the work. I expected much more from the series.
