On October 19, the public will be able to learn more about the history of Silvio Santos in the new original series Star+ the king of tv. Starring José Rubens Chacha, Mariano Mattos Martins and Leona Cavalli, the series presents an unprecedented look at his intimacy, showing the various phases of his career, including mistakes and successes, audience records, failures and all the great challenges faced to build the SBT and his empire.

humble origin
Before becoming Silvio Santos, Senor Abravanel (real name of the presenter) had to fight hard to achieve his goals. Coming from a humble family, the son of a Jewish immigrant couple, he started working at a young age as a street vendor of pens in Rio de Janeiro, being successful thanks to his charismatic and persuasive side.
His voice drew so much attention through the streets of the capital of Rio de Janeiro that he was invited to audition for a radio station. At just 20 years of age, Senor moved to São Paulo, where he began to work as an announcer on Rádio Nacional. At the same time, he presented in circuses the Caravana del Peru Falante, which featured several popular attractions and performances by famous artists.

In the early 1960s, Silvio became the owner of his first company, Baú da Felicidade, bought from his friend and mentor Manuel da Nóbrega and being a fundamental part of his business empire. At the same time, he debuted on TV with the program “Vamos Jogos de Forca”, on TV Paulista, the future TV Globo.
Gradually, the communicator won over the public and also disseminated the Baú da Felicidade – the basis for the creation of the Silvio Santos Group. Years later, it aired at five o'clock on Sundays on TV Globo, becoming the channel's main attraction and generating envy in the runners.
The first TV channel
It was only in the 1970s, however, after negotiations with the military government, that Silvio was granted the concession of his first TV channel, Televisão Silvio Santos (TVS), which aired for the first time in 1976. In 1981, Silvio Santos obtained the concession of four more channels, which together formed the Brazilian Television System, the SBT. The network would consolidate itself as the second force of Brazilian television for decades, behind Rede Globo.

In the late 1980s, Silvio was diagnosed with throat cancer and began treatment in the United States. The fear of losing his voice made him reflect on his life. Upon returning to TV, he spoke on national television about the illness, his past and his regrets.

Silvio Santos has been married since 1978 to Iris Abravanel (lived in the king of tv by Leona Cavalli), with whom he has four daughters: Daniela, Patrícia, Rebeca and Renata. All of them are somehow linked to the father's business, whether administratively or artistically.
What few know, however, is that Silvio was married, from 1962 to 1977, with Maria Aparecida Vieira, More known as little town (played by Roberta Gualda), mother of her eldest daughter Cíntia Abravanel (mother of actor and singer Tiago Abravanel) and adopted daughter Silvia. His first wife died of cancer in 1977, in anonymity, as the presenter kept her a secret. At the time, he also kept his daughters secret.
