"After seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded his run on Showtime," the network said in a statement. “We are proud that the series ended with such a strong audience and on such a powerful note. Schreiber had already spoken out on social media after the final season aired, thanking fans for their love and support and encouraging them to reach out to Showtime if they want to see season eight.
